Avoiding the All-or-Nothing Approach and Finding Balance in the Holiday Hustle

I’m opening up about a familiar urge I get this time of year: push through overwhelm or burn it all down!? Tune in to hear how I use intuition to balance work, family, stress, and celebrations through the holidays. Whether you’re stretched thin or seeking more ease, this episode offers ideas for staying grounded and connected through life’s busiest seasons.

Have You Ever Wanted to Just Stop Everything?

Quit your commitments, clear your schedule, and put yourself in time-out? This can hit hard when life feels overwhelming, especially around the holidays. For me, it comes in waves. I either want to push through the chaos or hit the breaks of it all.

This urge is a sign! Instead of reacting, check in with these prompts:

• What’s actually going on here?

• What do I have the capacity for today?

• How can I allow things to unfold without forcing or fleeing?

The holidays bring extra layers of busy. You’re shopping, going to events, and keeping up family traditions on top of your usual everyday responsibilities.

It’s normal to feel pulled in opposite directions. But when you resist the temptation to go all-in or all-out, you make space to find out what matters.

Let Your Intuition Guide You to More Balance

Here’s something to consider: your inner voice doesn’t stress about the holidays, New Year’s resolutions, or societal expectations. Those are just external things the mind loves to hyper-fixate on. Especially when you’re feeling overwhelmed and overscheduled.

What would happen if you started choosing presence over perfection? Let go of your need to control every outcome and instead bring your attention to alignment.

Yes, sometimes this is easier said than done. But it all starts with releasing the pressure to get everything exactly as you like it and trusting that small, intuitive steps will lead to where you need to be.

A Year of Calm for You

When you’re overwhelmed and uninspired, a few deep breaths won’t cut it. What you need is a whole new way to connect with yourself.

Get ready to finally feel grounded in who you are and where you’re headed.

Resistance Is Your Cue to Reconnect

We all feel resistance at times. It might show up as procrastination, frustration, or avoidance. For example, you know you need to do the laundry, but every fiber of your being refuses to start the first load.

Instead of letting the mind spin in circles about what you “should” be doing, pause and ask:

• What do I need right now?

• Is there an aligned, more enjoyable way to tackle this task?

• Do I need to give myself permission to rest or do something else before starting?

Taking a moment to simply acknowledge the resistance will help you find more balance and ease.

5 Tips for Staying Grounded Through the Holidays

  • Pause and Breathe. When you feel overwhelmed, take a moment to close your eyes and breathe.

  • Follow Intuition Moment-to-Moment. Instead of following your to-do list like a robot, check in with your inner voice as you flow from task to task.

  • Give Yourself Grace. Drop perfection and let some things slide this season.

  • Celebrate the Present. Focus on what’s working well and find small moments of appreciation.

  • Embrace Curiosity. Instead of swinging between all or nothing, enjoy the mystery in the middle!

The holidays can be a whirlwind, but they’re also an opportunity to reflect, reconnect, and align with whatever brings you joy! Whether you’re embracing calm or navigating chaos, know that you are enough and you’re doing enough through this season.
