Energy Shifts and Seasonal Self-Care Practices

Autumn has arrived, and with it an invitation to embrace the energies of the season: abundance, allowing, comfort, and connection. What do these energies mean to you? How do you want to explore and embody them through the fall season?

  • Abundance: harvest, ideas and projects becoming real and coming to completion.

  • Allowing: letting yourself and others to be imperfect, embracing authenticity, prioritizing rest, trusting the flow of things.

  • Comfort: all things physically cozy like socks, boots, cardigans, blankets, and hot tea. Also acts that feel nourishing, like cooking chili for dinner and then reading in a warm bath.

  • Connection: prioritizing self-reflection, connecting with intuition, and inviting deeper connection with the people in your life.

This time of year can be exciting and overwhelming. There’s a lot going on and the holiday season is just around the corner! That’s why self-care is so important right now.

Look at your daily rhythms with the energies of Autumn in mind. Stop what you’re not enjoying or isn’t working like it used to and start to nurture yourself with self-care practices that feel good. Now, let’s dive into seasonal self-care ideas that you can start weaving into your everyday life.

An Autumn of Ritual

For busy souls ready to release stress and embrace the spirit of the season.

A curated collection of rituals and resources to spark inspiration and deepen your intuition.

An Autumn of Ritual is ready to help you step into autumn with intention and joy.

Journal with Intuition this Season

Journaling is one of the best ways to process your thoughts and connect with your inner wisdom. I love practicing inner voice journaling, where I take 8 minutes to write from the voice of my intuition. It’s a great way to start the day and find out what your inner voice is guiding you towards.

Want to try inner voice journaling for yourself? Check out my free class on journaling with your intuition to get started. It’s an easy, accessible way to bring more self-reflection into your daily routine.

Lean into the Cozy Comforts

Sometimes self-care is as simple as putting on cozy socks, lighting a candle, or making a hot cup of tea. These little comforts can really transform your day-to-day experiences into something soothing. Speaking of, I’ve been refreshing my sock drawer after getting super inspired by this Sock School post.

If you’re looking for a warm beverage to enjoy this season, I’ve been sipping on Good Earth’s sweet and spicy tea—it’s a long-time favorite that’s perfect for cooler weather.

Physical and Energetic Clearing

Autumn is a really good time of year to declutter your physical and energetic space. Whether it’s a closet reset or organizing your medicine cabinet, clearing space can create alignment in your life.

I’ve been on a decluttering spree, focusing on the more hidden areas like inside drawers and behind cabinets. It’s amazing how good it feels!

You can even pair decluttering with energy clearing rituals—burn incense, bless the forks, or set intentions for the spaces you’re refreshing. For example, when I reorganized our medicine cabinet, I labeled the area “Feel Better” and set an intention for wellness in my home. (This is my fave label maker.)

Ground Yourself in Nature

Now that the weather is cooling off, it’s the perfect time to get outside and reconnect with nature. Taking a walk in the changing fall landscape can be a great way to get grounded. Nature shows us that change is constant, and this reminder can help soothe our minds during times of transition.

Practice Self-Mothering in Autumn

Self-mothering is all about giving yourself the nurturing care that you need and deserve. Whether or not you have a relationship with your mother, this practice is deeply nourishing. As the season shifts, consider how you can be your own source of comfort and love.

A Year of Calm for You

You don’t need another self-help audiobook. You need to listen to your intuition.

Imagine how it’d feel to slow down, breathe, and reconnect to the peace within.

A Year of Calm is your ticket to ending overwhelm and thriving in your life.
