A Carefree Reverie
Sit in reverie and watch the changing color of the waves that break upon the idle seashore of the mind.
(Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)
I sometimes daydream of spending my days tucked away in a sleepy beach town...
I picture myself sipping lattes in a vibrant coffee shop and practicing yoga on a rock overlooking the Pacific. In these dreamy moments, constraints of time & money do not exist. Logistics, realistic possibility and geography play no part in my reverie.
I travel around the world, my MacBook and basic essentials in tow. I stay in fancy hotels, befriend stunningly entertaining souls, and eat in restaurants only locals frequent.
My mind is open, kind and carefree. My bank account full, my body slim and strong. I carry postcards and stamps to send loving updates to those who matter. I journal, blog and photograph my journey.
The sun shines, rain falls, and the moderate weather shifts quietly from one season to the next. I dance late into the night, sleep soundly and wake up each day feeling energized.
I snowboard, surf and enjoy leisurely jogs. I indulge in red wine and decadent cupcakes with grace. I hear inspiring teachers speak and talented musicians play. I share my gifts with the world and experience abundance in return.
... and then sometimes I wake up from my daydream, only to realize that my life's pretty great. I have so much to be thankful for and tons of exciting opportunities on the horizon. Thanks for being part of my extraordinary adventure!
