Vacation Energy: How to Bring Sparkle to Your Everyday Routines

From savoring simple joys to revamping routines, we'll explore practical tips and small shifts to cultivate that on-a-break-energy without going anywhere. Get ready to embrace relaxation and bring a touch of vacation magic to your daily life.

Last month, we spent 7 days in Florida's 30A (Seacrest Beach, to be specific) for the 2nd year in a row. We brought our three kids and nanny, my husband’s dad and step-mom, and my dad. The trip was full of sunshine, smiles, sunrises, and so many sunscreen applications!

Here are some of my favorite vacation moments:

  • drinking coffee with a peek of the ocean

  • swimming in the gentle ocean waves with all 3 kiddos

  • having a fancy "chef dinner" one night

  • hanging out with my dad and my in-laws

Vacation Energy: Low-Drama, Low-Stress

Overall, the trip was really magical. But the best part for me personally was that I felt way more relaxed and less stressed than I have on past family trips.

Part of that is because I’ve spent the past few years focused on listening to my intuition and releasing emotional blocks, also called “emotional bean bags” or the “emotional pain body.”

Part of this is also probably because the kids are getting older and there’s a gift in going back to the same place again, knowing a little of what to expect. (Let this be a reminder to all the mamas with little babies: some things really do get EASIER with time.)

Being on vacation helps break up normal everyday routines in the best kind of way. Vacation-Mode-Kaileen is easier on the kids and easier on herself. She laughs and has less worries.

How to Get Vacation Energy in Your Everyday

Now settled back at home, I'm looking at my routines to see where I can upgrade, elevate, and make things easier. Basically, I want to bring a little “vacation energy” to my everyday life.

We've also been talking about this in A Year of Calm, my signature coaching program. The women in the group are revamping their:

  • to-do lists (more doodles)

  • bathroom breaks (more zen)

  • cooking (more play)

  • mornings (more walks)

7 Ways to Bring Vacation Vibes to Daily Routines

With just a few small shifts, you can bring vacation vibes to your life at home:

  1. Set the intention to have fun

  2. Relax your attitude and your schedule

  3. Simplify to what’s important

  4. Indulge in favorite foods, try new recipes, invite others to cook, go to a new restaurant

  5. Spend time outdoors: walking, swimming, exploring nearby nature spots

  6. Visit museums and other sights

  7. Feel appreciation and savor the little moments

I hope this inspires you to bring a little "vacation energy" into your everyday life!
