What does ritual mean to you?

For me a ritual is an act performed with purpose and intention. Rituals are a way I slow down to connect with myself and something greater — the Universe, God, my guides, nature, you name it.

In my current stage of life (adjusting to life with 3 children), I prefer super simple rituals. And in the winter season, I like to stick with rituals that are warming, comforting, and relaxing.

Try these four relaxing rituals this winter:

  1. Starting your morning without technology.

  2. Putting oil on your body before showering.

  3. Lighting candles to signify a transition in the day.

  4. Sipping on a warm beverage in the evening.

Check out this lovely book on rituals

In the episode, I read an excerpt from The Spirit Almanac: A Modern Guide to Ancient Self-Care by Emma Loewe and Lindsay Kellner. It’s a beautiful book that I love to pick up for inspiration on rituals and the shifting seasons.
