It Is the Sweet, Simple Things of Life

“I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.” — Laura Ingalls Wilder

Let’s pause and explore the value of the sweet and simple things of life.

Inspired by this quote from Laura Ingalls Wilder, “I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all,” Kaileen shares inspiration for appreciating the sweetness in life and cultivating simplicity through this season.

Savoring the Simple Sweetness of this Season

My guiding theme for the season is inspired by this Laura Ingalls Wilder quote, “I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.”

I’m focusing on how this holiday season is sweet, simple, and real.

  • Sweet — Savoring the sweetness of life this season. Appreciating small things. Doing sweet for things for other people. Try this 11-minute meditation for appreciation.

  • Simple — The holiday season is a busy time for mamas! I’m clearing the clutter. Not adding excess where it’s not need. Leaning into quiet moments. Simplifying where I can.

  • Real — Exploring and focusing on what’s real in the moment, from moment to moment.

Want to Enjoy the Sweet, Simple things of Life?

If you’re also feeling a nudge to enjoy the sweet and simple things this season, try these ideas:

  • Do one thing at a time. There is a sweet simplicity in mono-tasking. Slowing down and focus on what’s at hand. This will help you savor the moment.

  • Carry less. Literally carry less. Energetically, create clear spaces on your calendar. Reduce distractions. Put down what feels heavy and feel into the available lightness.

  • Move your body. Find a fun form of exercise or head out for a walk around the block. Take in some fresh air and enjoy the change of scenery.

  • Write in your journal. There’s magic in bringing words out from the inner world onto a page or screen. Journaling can help you find appreciation for the season. What’s delighting you? What are you celebrating and cultivating? What are you ready to release and receive?

Free Guided Meditation + Journaling Session

Inner Voice Journaling is a powerful practice for accessing the wisdom within you. I’m hosting just two more FREE Inner Voice Journaling classes this year in Bella (Jess) Lively’s LivINg Room.

Our time together will begin with conversation and a guided meditation, then 8 minutes of journaling with your inner voice, then finish with Q&A and connection. Bring questions to ask your intuition or come to enjoy that aligning, magical wisdom within.

FYI this call is live and not recorded. There are 2 remaining sessions for 2022, I’d love to have you join us there! Save your spot:
