Reverb 10.12 Be Like Water

the wild air Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless - like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend. (Bruce Lee)

Body Integration. This year, when did you feel the most integrated with your body? Did you have a moment where there wasn’t mind and body, but simply a cohesive YOU, alive and present?

I grew up cultivating a cohesive mind and body connection. Any athlete or artist will tell you there are times when you're in the flow.

For me, this happened in a swimming pool and there were times when I didn't know where I ended and the water began. Those magical moments of flow were what I spent countless hours striving towards. More flow, less fight.

The water always wins when you work against it. This lesson, learned early in life, has served me well beyond the chlorinated lanes of my childhood.

I am alive and present, cohesively me. For better, worse, and everything between.

Jill Bolte Taylor sheds light on this topic in a way that resonates with me. Her story is unlike anything most of us will ever experience.
