Intuitive Living: Making Time, Trusting Your Gut, and Daily Practices
Do you have a hard time trusting your gut? Always forgetting to tune in? These are two common struggles when it comes to living with intuition. I’m sharing my best tips for overcoming both, plus rituals to deepen your connection in everyday life.
What’s Your Biggest Struggle with Intuition?
On Instagram, I asked, “What’s your biggest struggle when it comes to listening to your intuition?” and the overwhelming majority of responses were about making time and trusting your gut. Keep reading to learn how to make time and trust the messages you receive with daily practices you can start today.
What Does It Mean to Live Intuitively?
When you’re living intuitively, you are:
listening to inner guidance,
allowing yourself to be supported,
trusting the wisdom within you,
without questioning each step.
Look at it this way: there’s areas in life where you flow through decisions and next steps with ease. (And there’s areas where you’re easily frustrated, trying too hard, and banging your head against the wall.)
If you want to live with more intuition, stop using your head so much, release the emotions that are holding you back, and follow the nudges of wisdom from your intuition.
Intuition: Your Inner Voice of Wisdom
Your intuition is your inner voice of wisdom within. When you start acting in alignment with your intuition, you’ll feel less stressed and overwhelmed in daily life.
Use your intuition to make small, everyday choices and in big, life-changing decisions. Here’s a simple process for living with more intuition:
Feel – Release Emotional Blocks
Emotional energy can make it difficult to hear your inner voice. When you learn to feel and release these blocks, you'll be able to access your intuition with more ease and clarity.
Receive – Access Intuition
Find a quiet moment and bring your awareness to the place inside where you feel your inner voice. Switch on "listening mode" and exhale thoughts away as they arise.
Trust – Take Aligned Action
Play with trusting the guidance you receive. Even if it feels silly or frivolous, give yourself permission to act in ways that feel supportive, good, and aligned for you.
Making Time for Intuition
You won’t always have to “make time” for intuition. With practice, you will easily integrate it into your daily rhythms. If you’re first getting started, or feel like you need a reset, try these ideas:
Ritual stacking. Connect with your intuition while brewing your coffee, in your quiet car after school drop off, or after shutting your laptop for the day.
8-minute inner voice journaling practice. In my free Journal with Intuition class, you’ll learn how to access your inner wisdom in a whole new way. Click here to sign up.
Tune in when you remember! Drop the guilt and stop beating yourself up about forgetting to listen to your intuition. When you remember is when you tune in.

Trusting Intuition: 10 Daily Practices
From a young age, you’re taught to trust experts and seek outside opinions. This is a useful thing to learn, but it stands in the way of trusting yourself.
So, just know that it’s perfectly okay and normal to struggle with trusting your intuition. It will get easier and feel more natural as you go. Try one or all of these practices and see how you feel.
Name the location. Ask yourself, “Where is this information coming from?” Thoughts often feel like they’re coming from your head and intuition feels like it’s coming from lower in the body, like your heart or your gut.
Start small. Experiment with decisions that are very low-stakes like choosing a nail polish color or which show to watch.
Play with time. Set a time frame or time limit to check in. Or try something your inner voice guides you to for 5 days, 30 days, etc. Whatever feels good.
Ask for a sign. Ask the Universe for signs to confirm what you’re intuition is saying.
Pull a card. Listen to last week’s episode for an oracle and tarot card reading for the spring season.
In the shifts. Connect with your intuition in the pivot points and transitions through your day.
Take one minute. Set a timer and give yourself one minute to be still and listen.
Ask a question. Pause, breathe, bring your awareness to that place within where you feel your intuitive wisdom, and ask, “What do I need?”
Begin that day with intention. Each morning, tune into your intuition and set intentions for the day. [ Keep reading: strengthen your intuition with this morning routine. ]
End the day with gratitude. Each evening, connect with your intuition and feel into gratitude, through a mental list, meditation, or gratitude journaling.
