Pauses, Pivots, and Trusting the Path

Join me for a personal update, plus ideas to consider around pauses, pivots, and trusting the path. I get into why breaks and rest are underappreciated elements of progress. I talk about how shifts and pivots are a natural part of life, but as humans we desire and dread change at the same time. And I share why being gentle and having compassion for yourself can help you trust your journey.

A Little Personal Update

I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant with our 3rd baby and our oldest begins Kindergarten in a few weeks. Personally, this summer season has been filled with stillness, fun, shifting energy, and lots of preparation.

In work, my group coaching program, Summer In Flow, is in full swing and I’m really encouraged by all that’s happening. I want to extend a huge thank you to the women in the program. You’ve been a delight to serve through this season and I’m looking forward to these final weeks of flow!

Pauses Are Powerful

Pauses, breaks, and rest are underappreciated elements of progress. Pauses give us space to integrate, expand, and settle into our growth.

In the past few years, I’ve taken at least one digital sabbatical. This year, I haven’t felt called to take a break from social media until very recently. Now I’m seriously considering a September Sabbatical. If you want to join me, let me know.

Pivots Don’t Have to Be Painful

Shifts and pivots are a natural part of life, but as humans we desire and dread change at the same time.

I’m currently pivoting my mindset and perspective. Instead of pushing myself to make big moves in this season, I’m going to really focus on wrapping up Summer In Flow, resting, doing what feels good, and following alignment and flow.

How does this look practically?

  • Less to-do lists and more moving from one thing to the next.

  • Less plans on my calendar and more space to breathe.

  • Less gripping, more releasing and allowing.

Trusting the Path

During session with my own inner voice and with my coaching clients, the wisdom that comes through is the same: we can take different paths in life, but we are guided, supported, and heading in one direction. This can be hard to wrap the mind around, so I recommend holding a lot of compassion and tenderness when trusting the path. And being kind to yourself when it feels like you’ve wandered off… because there’s beauty in exploring too.
