Autumn Celebration and Completion Ceremony with 4-Card Tarot Spread

Last Updated in Autumn 2024

Before Autumn comes to an end, give yourself space to celebrate and complete the season. Here’s a 3-step guide for holding a ceremony of your own with journal prompts, guided meditation, and tarot reading.

Before Autumn Ends, Celebrate and Complete the Season

While it feels like winter is in full swing, there are still days left in autumn. In the Northern Hemisphere, the official start of winter is December 21 on the Winter Solstice.

Do you remember when you were excited about sweater weather, pumpkin spice lattes, and the crunchy, beautiful leaves that fall brings? All of that magic is muted now by the buzz of the holidays and excitement about winter.

Before this next season officially arrives, give yourself space to celebrate and complete autumn.

How to Hold Your Own Autumn Celebration and Completion Ceremony — Journal Prompts, Meditation, and Tarot Reading Included!

We had our Completion Ceremony for Autumn this week in my signature program, A Year of Calm. Keep reading for a peek inside the experience and an easy 3-step guide you can follow to have your own ceremony for autumn at home.

Step 01. Begin with Connection

We started with a chat about how easy it is to rush into the next season when society is always pushing us forward. I made a joke that if you shop at Target next week, it's going to feel like it's time to shop for Valentine's Day. Instead of getting carried away into the future, give yourself the space to find stillness in the season you're actually in.

Grab your journal. Take a few cleansing breaths. And reflect on the following journal prompts:

  • How are you feeling about the season you're in?

  • Where are you spending time?

  • Where are you spending mental energy?

  • How can you shift your focus to what matters?

Step 02. Embrace the Energy of Autumn

Next, I held a guided meditation that focused on connecting with intuition and embracing the energies of autumn — abundance and allowing, comfort and connection.

Give yourself a moment to pause, breathe, and connect within. Purchase The Meditation Collection or try this free guided meditation from the Celebrate Cultivate podcast below.

Step 03. Gather Wisdom from Autumn

After taking a few minutes to meditate and connect within, I did a 4-card Tarot spread for the season of autumn using The Fountain Tarot card deck.

Pull your own 4 cards, asking for wisdom on honoring, releasing, celebrating, and completing for Autumn. Or watch this 11-minute video for the reading I gave inside A Year of Calm.

Learn about accessing intuition with tarot and oracle cards with this guide and 16 of my favorite decks.

Reflect on this 4-Card tarot reading to celebrate and complete this season —

  • Honoring: Ten of Cups

  • Releasing: Four of Swords

  • Celebrating: Page of Swords

  • Completing: The Lovers
