The Magic of Morning Routines

Here’s the truth: you can have a magical morning routine that is simple, easy, and brings more intuition into your everyday life. The beginning of the day is a wonderful time to connect with yourself and set up a day that’s filled with alignment and flow.

I’m going to share how you can create the best morning routine for you, plus strategies you can use today to strengthen your intuition.

Because when you begin your day with these things, it really helps you tap into them throughout the rest of the day.

Find Your Best Morning Routine

Take an honest look at the season of life you’re in. What morning routine will support you?

Ask yourself (and your intuition) these questions:

  • How do you want your mornings to feel?

  • How much time do you have?

  • What are you already doing in the mornings?

  • Do you have any favorite practices or rituals that you used to do that you want to get back to?

  • Anything new you want to incorporate?

Your routine is not in charge of you. Let it support you.

You get to explore and experiment. Just because we’re talking about a routine doesn’t mean it has to be the exact same every day. In fact, that can be totally unrealistic.

Begin Your Day with Intuition

Your intuition is your inner voice of wisdom within. When you start listening to your intuition and acting on the guidance you receive, you will feel less overwhelmed and more aligned in daily life. Your intuition can support you in making small, everyday choices and in big, life-changing decisions.

There isn’t one “right” way to access intuition. Use these three steps to start accessing your inner voice, then adjust your intuition practice in ways that feel good to you.

  1. Turn your focus inward. Close your eyes, steady your breath, and exhale deeply when thoughts arise. Take your awareness to the space inside where you've heard your intuition before. (Everyone is different - you may feel your intuition in your chest, belly, or somewhere else.)

  2. Tune into your quiet knowing. Go into receiving mode and listen. Your intuition might show up with words, images, sensations, or even complete stillness. This is perfect. Ask your inner voice open-ended questions — and if anything is unclear or unsatisfying to your mind, follow up with more questions.

  3. Trust with open curiosity. Your intuition is part of you. It wants what is best for you. It believes you and believes in you. Experiment with acting on the insights you receive. Play with trusting what comes.

Strengthen Your Intuition with This Morning Routine

Gentle Body Scan of Gratitude

As you wake up, connect with your body. Wiggle your fingers and toes. Bring your hands to your heart or rest them on your belly and take a few deep inhales and complete exhales. Do a body scan from the tips of your toes all the way up to the crown of your head, bringing appreciation and light, bright energy to all of your spaces.

Connect with Your Intuition

Meditate. Journal. Pull an oracle or tarot card. Simply pause, breathe, and ask, “What do I need?”

Look at What’s on the Calendar + Set Your Intention for the Day

Setting intentions is a practice of gathering a word (or group of words) that acts as an anchor back to yourself and what you want. There’s no right or wrong way to do it. Intentions are a conversation you get to have with yourself.

Come Back to Intuition Through Your Morning

As your coffee brews. When you pick your outfit and get dressed. As you drop your kids off at daycare or school. As you drive to work. Gentle and simple. Drop down into your intuition and see what wisdom comes through.

Act In Alignment with Your Inner Voice

As you flow through your morning routine, take aligned actions. This is where you explore trusting the wisdom your intuition shares with you. Might lead you to drive to work a new way. Stopping to pick up a green juice. Calling a friend to make spontaneous plans.
