44 Intuition Quotes to Help You Trust Your Gut in Motherhood

Mother’s intuition is real. And it’s a powerful force for navigating the challenges of parenting.

These 44 quotes will inspire you to trust your gut through the ups and downs of motherhood. Through the noise, you need reminders to ride out the chaos and find calm in everyday life. As a mom of three, I understand (from experience!) the beauty, challenges, joys, and difficulties you’re facing.

Why Trusting Your Intuition Matters

Trusting your gut is not just a nice idea. It’s essential for making empowered decisions in motherhood. Instead of searching for answers or following countless experts, remember that you have the answers within you! Your intuition is a compass that will guide you toward choices that resonate with your unique family and are in alignment with your approach to parenting.

By tuning into your inner voice, you can:

Make Better Decisions in the Moment. Listening to your intuition will help you make the best choice for you and your children, even when you’re overwhelmed and overstimulated.

Build Your Confidence as a Mother. Trusting your gut increases your sense of self-assurance as a mother. You’ll stop caring about what other people think and you’ll know you’re doing your personal best.

Deepen Your Relationship with Your Children. A strong intuitive connection will help you trust your deepest knowings about your children’s emotions and needs.

How to Listen to Your Intuition

Listening to your intuition and acting on its guidance will help you feel less overwhelmed and more aligned in your everyday life as a mom. There isn’t one “right” way to access intuition. Try this sequence, then adjust it in ways that feel good to you:

Turn your focus inward. Close your eyes, steady your breath, and exhale deeply when thoughts arise. Take your awareness to the space inside where you've heard your intuition before. (It could be the chest, belly, or somewhere else.)

Tune into your quiet knowing. Go into receiving mode and listen. Your intuition might show up with words, images, sensations, or even complete stillness. This is perfect. Ask your inner voice open-ended questions — and if anything is unclear or unsatisfying to your mind, follow up with more questions.

Trust with open curiosity. Your intuition is part of you. It wants what is best for you. It believes you and believes in you. Experiment with acting on the insights you receive. Play with trusting what comes.
